What Are The Easiest Jobs To Get In The UK?

Times are tough and unemployment is high…so what!

by Sam Qam

With unemployment at an all-time high in the UK, getting a job you really want to do is tough. You may have a university degree, a doctorate in particle physics and be a grade 8 recorder player, but with this much competition, everyone has issues finding work.

If you are just determined to have any job that will mean you don't have to join the dole queue, here are some suggestions for jobs that are probably the easiest to get in the UK right now.

Fast Food

The beauty of fast food is the fact that it is very easy to make. Each small part of the cooking and serving process is broken down into individual jobs. This means that you need basically no experience to be able to apply for the job in most restaurants. You just need to show that you are of sound mind and body and that you can be reliable. Training will be given on the job and there are tons of fast food places in most towns and cities.

Waiting

If you want something requiring a bit more guile, you may want to get a job as a waiter in a regular restaurant. Again you can be trained on the job, though experience is normally preferred, but as there are just so many restaurants out there, the number of jobs available will mean that you should have no problems.

Supermarket

There are so many jobs to be done at a supermarket, especially in the enormous big name stores opening up in most towns, that there is always something needing doing. There is a high turn-over of staff so they are almost always hunting for staff, and, because there are so many 'metro' stores opening in every town centre, you might not even need to travel to the outskirts of town.

Cleaning

Cleanliness is desirable for everything except maybe rubbish tips. This means that there are always jobs going in the cleaning industry. There are loads of contract cleaners working for agencies in big towns with lots of offices and even commercial cleaning contracts that cover entire factories or warehouses. Office cleaning is never normally that hard and will be done in a team so can be lots of fun too.

Temp

If all else fails, joining a temping agency will give you the opportunity to work for lots of different places for short periods and may even lead to you getting a permanent position at a company you like.

Good Luck!
