There are three major types of exercise that will be included in the work out program, and these are the following:

Aerobic exercise – this is used to condition the heart and to deliver proper breathing techniques. Examples of these are running, jogging, cycling, dancing, swimming, and playing sports, like tennis.

Anaerobic exercise – the primary goal of this type is to strengthen the muscles. Examples of these are sit-ups, pull-ups, push-ups, and weight lifting. It is also in this type that you will be burning a lot of fats.

Flexibility exercise – this type if for proper muscle and joint coordination that will facilitate extreme and sudden movements and shift in body position. Examples of this are stretching and bending.

A regular exercise at least three times a week can already do much to help a person lose weight. It may take one month to two months of rigid workout for the ideal results to be seen.

Losing weight is easier said than done. A lot of people are discouraged when they are already about to start their weight management program because they fear that they will end up with bad results. Not to mention, they also become impatient when it comes to observing a daily routine.

Another problem in weight loss management is the diet plan. Overweight or obese individuals dread changes in their daily servings of food. That is, they are depressed to see that there are broccoli, fish, wheat bread, and an apple on their plate instead of hamburgers, hotdogs, and donuts. This is also one of the reasons why they quit the program and end up doing the same habits as before. There is an alternative on how to lose weight without going on a diet, and that is through a proper exercise program. The person will be active and doing a lot of activities that will let him sweat a lot, which in turn will burn those extra pounds. An exercise program should be planned out together with a fitness instructor. A physical therapist or a physician may also be involved, especially if the person has an existing health problem, like diabetes, hypertension, bone injuries, and joint pains.

Although there is a participation of these health experts, the person’s desire on what kind of exercise he can tolerate and wishes to do is still given the highest priority.
