Micro blogging is now the focus of the young generation. The frenzied lifestyle has created a style of blogging where posts can be completed in a matter of minutes, mostly on the go. Also, readers are able to thoroughly understand the blog in a very short time.

Quick but meaningful text or visual messages (or both) are the real significant traits of microblogs. It is believed to be an epic post if it is more than a paragraph.

Twitter is probably the pioneer in microblogging platforms. In Twitter, users can send quick messages known as 'tweets'. Links are supported and an image can also be uploaded. It may have the means of carrying a full-on-blog, but its users chose to use single image as their blog entry, which is also a trend now. Anyone who observes a micro blog would only see a very brief life story instead of a novel type. Traditional blog platforms can be used as a microblog, although some may offer a template specifically for it. Another offshoot of microblogging is live blogging. Live blogs appear as a simple text feed but its content is important because it is typically done on a groundbreaking event like a press conference or open-door meeting.

Just like any other internet activity, microblogging has its pros and cons. Several people find it as a good tool to blog, while others do not consider it 'real blogging'. No matter what others may say, you alone can distinguish if microblogging fits your stlye.
