The Clothes Make The Guy

When I enter into a store I like to get what I'm there for and get out. I don't spend additional time wandering around, looking at all the different things to buy. Every shopping excursion is a mission for me. I like to keep a good pace and make sure that I finish my task quickly. My sister thought she would get me to go shopping by providing me some walmart coupons online. Apparently she thought it was time for me to buy some new clothes.

She also knows that I like spending my money almost as much as I like shopping. I can easily be content knowing that I have just a couple pairs of jeans to get me through the week. My sister wasn't the only one that had mentioned something about my appearance. My best friend had set me up for a date with a girl he knew pretty well. When he saw what I had on he looked at me and started cracking on me. If only he were the only one. The typical people I see throughout the month had even started looking at me a little strange. It's not like me to even bother to pay attention to what others are looking at. I typically suppose that it is a good indicator that I better go home and take a good look in the mirror.

This time around I figured it was my clothes and I needed something better to wear. Right when I got out of my car at the parking lot, my thoughts kicked into mission mode. Get the same style of pants that I normally wear. I don't even waste time to see if things fit. If I stick to what I'm used to then I am guaranteed I'm going to be happy with it. When it came to picking out a new shirt, my goal was just quickly find one that would fit me and head for the cash register. As I walked through the store I began remembering how the date went that I was on the other night. It was immediately obvious to me that this woman valued fashion and enjoyed pampering herself.

We both enjoyed ourselves as we chatted and laughed all night. I asked her out again and she said she would be happy to. As I stood there inside of the department store all I could focus on was this woman. Suddenly what I was going to wear became a whole new meaning.

I didn't even understand how to start shopping. Even though I am surrounded by people every day, I never look to see what they are wearing. The sales clerk must have caught notice of how out of my element I looked. I'm sure I came off like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. After explaining my situation, the clerk helped me pick out something a little more classy.

Shopping for a new outfit didn't end up costing me anywhere close to what I expected. We both had a great time on our second date. Although it was a nice thing to be told that I looked good, it was even better to find out that we were going to be going on a third date.
