Is Pest Control Bugging You?
There's a famous phrase that says you're never more than a few feet away from a rat; it's something that we don't like to think about, but unfortunately it's true! Pests have a way of invading places we would never have even considered; in between walls, air conditioning units, in the ceilings and floors; there's nowhere that they can't burrow in. So what steps can we take to reassure ourselves that there aren't any pests creeping in the kitchen or obscured in the office?
Firstly you need to tidy yourself up! One of the main reasons for unwanted visitors is cleanliness; no matter how clean you think you are, there are always crumbs in the kitchen and unsorted rubbish that can attract pests. Unfortunately pests aren't fussy when it comes to food sources; whether it's haute cuisine or leftovers from the local chip shop, anything and everything will be seen as a meal to our furry foes. The only way you can avoid attracting them in the first place is to keep surfaces and areas clean, and make sure you dispose of your rubbish responsibly.
Next you need to go on a hunt; whether it's in the office or home, investigate all those small nooks and crannies for places where problem pests might be hidden. Look out for droppings and damage as the first signs of an infestation; if you bring in the professionals they can usually get an idea of the size and severity of the situation from looking at a few bits of mouse poo; it's a strange job but somebody has to do it, and you'd rather it wasn't you!
Before sending off for the experts, you may want to set traps or invest in your own toxic sprays to tackle the problem. This can put your mind to ease, but might not always be the right way of going about things; you might catch a few pesky invaders, but you probably won't be able to get rid of them all. This leads into a vicious circle where you just keep on stocking up the cupboard each month, with no signs of improvement.
That's why we suggest you go to the guys who know what they're doing; they'll be able to rid you of your guests, sort out any problems that may attract more pests in the future, and clear up any damage caused, all in one go. It's the perfect excuse to let someone else do the work while you put your feet up and relax.
